More fabulous Nigella... December 26, 2008 Calgary Book Worm (Calgary, Alberta, Canada) What's not to love about Nigella's larger-than-life attitude towards cooking food, eating food and in fact, food, in general!! Absolutely gorgeous photography compliments Nigella's wonderful use of the English language. It almost makes me wish it was "Christmas every day..."(I said almost!!) Great book for novices and pro's alike; clear directions with accompanying pictures showing what it should look like!
MMMMMMMMMM December 6, 2008 Brigitte De Roover (Montreal, Canada) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Granted , i am a big Nigella fan and a christmas freak but even so this book is great ! Nigella digs out her usual uncomplicated delicious recipes that are useable all through the winter season not just at christmas time. I already made several of her recipes and they always come out great. Big bonus with Nigella's books ofcourse is that they read like prose....

This will be my first purchase of a book by Lawson. You can't help but get caught up in the sheer gorgeousness of the recipes and her irreverent commentary. However, this book is going for under Cdn.$20 on the U.K. website...Come on Amazon Canada...let's be competitive, shall we?

All the buzz is around the new movie, Food, Inc. and I must say it is out of this world. If you have any doubts about who controls the food you eat or any thoughts that the ‘health food nuts' you know are conspiracy loons, this will open your eyes. According to the research and facts presented in this film, unless you are eating whole, unprocessed, organi... Submitted: on 17th Jun 2009 Tags: · Health · hi · Unless Confusion, by Christina Pirello (View entire post here) I think I may have figured out why Americans do not make better food choices. I think people are completely confused. Heck, I get confused and I work in food, study food and research the effects of food on health. I am considered an expert (whatever that means...) and if I get confused, I can only imagine what the rest of the country...who just wants to live their lives and... Review: An Edible History of Humanity by Tom Standage genre: non-fiction/food rating: 4/5 This book isn't really about eating food. It's not about tasting food or cooking food. An Edible History of Humanity is about food's place in world history - the roles it has filled, the drama that has sometimes surrounded it and the absolute necessity for our world to deal with it on a daily basis. We start at the beginning, learning about hunter... The End of Overeating by David Kessler, and Society’s Relationship with Food When people are working longer and harder to make ends meet, is it any surprise that the obesity epidemic is worsening, when there is cheap, fast, addictive food on every corner? Let's read about food - the good, the bad, and the almost unavoidable. Submitted: on 8th May 2009 Tags: · food · Good

Sunday Salon - May 24, 2009 May 24, 2009 I have missed the last two Sunday Salons as I have been out of town visiting friends and family on the east coast.
